“Modern luxury travel is all about personalization and immersive local experiences. Travelers today desire journeys that rejuvenate the body, mind, and soul, making each trip memorable. Capella Kenting will embrace these principles, and we are thrilled to partner with Riant Capital Limited and its subsidiary Win Full Co. Ltd. to offer a fresh experience to our guests,” says Cristiano Rinaldi, President of Capella Hotel Group.
The partnership with Riant Capital Limited reflects a shared vision and recognition of Kenting’s potential, noted for its rich tourism resources and CNN’s acclaim as one of Asia’s top ten underrated tourist destinations. Aaron Chan, Chairman of Riant Capital, states, “Bringing international hotel brands is vital for showcasing Taiwan to the world. Our collaboration with Capella, renowned for luxury travel experiences, will enhance Kenting and Taiwan’s global profile.”
A Sanctuary of Exclusivity
Spanning 99,000 square meters along the western coast of Taiwan’s Hengchun Peninsula, Capella Kenting is designed by the esteemed Italian architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, founders of ACPV ARCHITECTS. Their design draws inspiration from Pingtung’s indigenous architecture and the natural beauty of the Hengchun Peninsula. The resort features elements like low stone walls, typical of local tribal houses, to connect guests with Kenting’s azure ocean views. With only 65 villas, the low-density resort ensures unparalleled privacy and tranquility.
The resort will offer the largest hotel rooms in Taiwan, starting at 197 square meters. Each villa includes a private pool, hot spring facilities, and a 180-degree sea view, allowing guests to enjoy stunning sunsets from their rooms.
Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel express admiration for Kenting’s cultural and natural heritage, aiming to integrate Capella Kenting seamlessly with its environment. “The design concept centers on the hotel’s connection with the ocean,” notes Antonio Citterio. “Guests will immerse themselves in endless sea views and unique natural experiences.”
Patricia Viel highlights the design’s emphasis on local heritage. “We incorporate traditional craftsmanship and techniques to showcase local characteristics,” she explains. “The resort’s design features signature elements like stone-stacked walls, strengthening the cultural connection and minimizing visual impact on the landscape.”
Journey to Wellbeing
The Capella Wellness program is integral to the Capella Kenting experience. This program combines traditional southern Taiwanese wellness practices with Capella’s signature lunar phase-specific therapies, offering a deeply immersive and restorative experience. The resort’s serene setting enhances its wellness offerings.
